Recruitment is done on the basis of CGL (Combined Graduate Level) examination. The main purpose to conduct this examination is to ensure that the candidate is capable of working in a public service job. SSC has its headquarters in Delhi. The main function of the SSC (Staff Selection Commission) came into force from 1 June 1999. The SSC is an integral cog because it helps the government employ candidates who are well-educated and have the correct set of skills for particular jobs.

Exam Pattern: The exam is conducted in 3 tiers and an applicant has to clear all the tiers in order to be a government employee. Tier 1 of SSC CGL exams involves multiple choice questions on subjects like Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and General English. This is the easiest of all the tiers. Now comes tier 2, it also has the same multiple choice questions format. But the syllabus and subjects for Tier 2 are different. Here questions will be from Quantitative Abilities, Comprehension, English Language & Statistics. Here paper1 will be of 10th level, Paper2 will be based on 10+2 level. While paper 3 will check your level of graduation. Now the wait for Tier 3 is over. It is the last level of examination, & comprises of a Personal Interview and Skill Test.
SSC Recruitment
Recruitment: Staff Selection Commission offers various government jobs based on the merit in CGL Examination such as Audit Officer, Statistical Investigator Grade-II, Compiler etc. SSC has announced the prospective job vacancies open for suitable candidates in 2015. In 2011 there was an increment in recruitment to at least 20000 to 25000. There was an urge need for this increment so as to recruit more and more public servants who can perform their responsibilities without faltering. SSC did its job very well by recruiting 23,178 candidates in the year 2010-11. SSC has announced 62,390 job vacancies in 2015 for the eligible candidates.

The responsibilities of SSC board are not limited to the conduction of examination rather it also ensures that exams re carried out in a fair manner. Result management and quick placement are also to be taken care of. Now a days there is a craze in people of India to appear in SSC CGL examination for being the public servant. It shows that SSC has done its job quite well in past years so that more and more people are taking interest in it. Statistics shows that a whopping 60 lakh applications were received in 2010-11. This is really a massive figure and passing such a competitive examination is one the greatest achievements of one’s life. Because it lets you make your own identity out of the crowd.
