The University of Jammu has invited applications from the eligible and interested candidates to appear in the Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) 2016 for the academic year 2016 for admission to its various academic programmes such as Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Post Graduate Diploma. Every year the Jammu University conducts the JUET to short list students for admission on the basis of their entrance and academic merit. We have mentioned below the complete details regarding the JUET 2016. So, we request all the interested students to read out this article carefully in order to know about the submission of application form, eligibility criteria, date of entrance exam, exam pattern, how to apply, downloading admit card, declaration of result, etc.

The University of Jammu will conduct the JUET 2016 entrance test in the month of June for admission to these academic programmes.On the basis of JUET 2016, the University of Jammu will provide admission to the learners in its Main Campus/ Offsite Campuses and Affiliated Colleges for the Academic Session 2016-17. It is to be noted that admission to the academic programmes will be purely based on the combination of merit obtained by learners in the Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) and Academic Merit.

Those students who are eligible and wish to take admission in the Jammu University for higher studies need to fill up the application form to appear in entrance test 2016. The university has published the JUET 2016 notification on its official website on 20th April, 2016. It has been mentioned in the notification that the submission process to fill up JUET-2016 Online application form will commence from 9th May, 2016.

How to Apply for JUET 2016 ?

The interested learners can fill up the application form online by visiting the official website at www.juet.in. After submitting the application form online, the system will generate a challan form pre-printed with the candidate’s details. The applicant must download the copy of fee challan and take print out of it. The JUET 2016 application fee has to be submitted in the designated Branches of the J&K Banks in the form of challan. The university has requested all the applicants to positively collect the hardcopy of JUET-2016 Brochure from the Bank at the time of payment of requisite fee. The mode of payment is only Jammu and Kashmit Bank Challan. If the fee is not submitted through auto generated challan within the specified time period, the application will be immediately rejected.It is advised to carefully read out all the important instructions before filling up application form to avoid any mistakes or errors.

Application FEE for JUET 2016:

The application fee for Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) is Rs. 650/- for General Category and Rs. 550/- for SC/ST/ST (Leh & Kargil). The candidates desirous to be considered under Self-Financing Seats has to pay an additional amount of Rs. 550/- along with the requisite Entrance Fee. As we have already mentioned above, the Mode of Payment of fee is through Jammu & Kashmir Bank Challan only. It is advised to all the candidates to submit the fee before the last date to avoid any issues.

JUET 2016 Exam Pattern:

The JUET 2016 question paper will be based on the qualification of the student. i.e. the candidates who wish to appear in the entrance test will find two set of question papers, one for the candidates appearing after 12th class and other for the candidates appearing after graduation. In the both cases, the question paper will comprise of 150 objective type questions of one mark each. The question paper will consists of following sections:

  • General English: 40 questions
  • General Knowledge: 40 questions
  • Reasoning: 40 questions
  • Numerical Ability: 30 questions

The Duration of Jammu University Entrance Test is 2 ½ hours. Also, there shall be negative marking of 0.25 marks for for every wrong answer.  The level of numerical ability shall be of 10th standard only for both the question papers. The level of the test for other components will be based on the fact that for which standard you are appearing in exam. In case of candidates appearing after 12th class, the questions will be based on 12th standard and in case of candidates appearing after graduation, the level of questions will be of graduation standard.

Who will be Eligible for Admission after declaration of JUET Entrance Result 2016?

The JUET 2016 result is expected to be declared on 21st June 2016. The candidates who will secure less than 30% marks (General Category) and 25% marks (SC/ST category) shall not be eligible for admission. The following weightage will be considered for admission to any course for the candidates who will qualify the entrance test:

  • Academic Merit of the qualifying examination 75%
  • Entrance Test 25%
