Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojna 2024 is a big plan by the government to help artists and craftsmen in India. It started on September 17, 2023, and the Prime Minister launched it. This plan wants to support people doing different traditional jobs by helping them learn new skills, have enough money, and be recognized for their work.

Covered Jobs

The plan helps people doing 18 different jobs, like Carpenter, Boat Maker, Armourer, Blacksmith, Goldsmith, Potter, Sculptor, Cobbler, Mason, Doll & Toy Maker, Barber, and Fishing Net Maker. This means many traditional skills will get attention and help under this plan.

Benefits to Artists and Craftsmen

  1. Recognition:
    • Artists get a special certificate and ID card, showing that they are important for India’s rich culture.
  2. Skill Upgradation:
    • Artists get basic training for 5-7 days and advanced training for 15 days or more. They also get Rs. 500 per day during training to encourage them to improve their skills.
  3. Toolkit Incentive:
    • At the start of basic training, artists get a toolkit incentive of up to Rs. 15,000 in e-vouchers. This helps them buy the tools they need for their work.
  4. Credit Support:
    • Artists can get loans without giving any guarantee, up to Rs. 3 lakh. The loan comes in two parts – Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh. They only need to pay 5% interest, and the government helps with 8%.
  5. Incentive for Digital Transactions:
    • Artists are encouraged to use digital tools for transactions. They get Rs. 1 for each digital transaction, up to 100 transactions a month. This helps them understand digital tools and money better.
  6. Marketing Support:
    • The plan helps with marketing by giving certificates, branding, and putting them on online shopping websites. This helps them sell their products better.
  7. Formal MSME Ecosystem:
    • Artists become part of a big business system called MSME. This helps them connect with more business opportunities and become more visible.

Enrolment Process

People who want to be a part of this plan can sign up at Common Service Centres. They will use their Aadhaar card and fingerprints to join through the PM Vishwakarma website.

After signing up, there’s a three-step process to make sure everything is correct. First, there’s a check at the local level like Gram Panchayat or Urban Local Body. Then, a committee in the district checks and recommends. Finally, another committee gives the approval. This helps make sure that everyone who joins the plan is genuine and eligible.

Conclusion

Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojna 2024 is like a guiding light for India’s artists. It helps them grow in every way and become part of the bigger business world. By learning more, getting money help, and selling better, this plan keeps our traditional jobs alive and honors our cultural heritage.
