The ProSportify and Wrestling Federation of India has been all set to organize its mega tournament known as “Pro Wrestling League (PWL)” in the month of December 2015. This is the first time that the WFI has been organizing this event to promote game of wrestling among the youth of India. It is also first ever wrestling event in India which involves such a huge prize money of Rs.15 Crores as a whole.The league matches are all set to be telecast on Sony Pal, Sony Six and Set Max as the Sony Network has been given the broadcast rights. The viewers can enjoy the PWL matches live on the ground as well on their television sets. This lucrative Pro wrestling League is a win-win situation for the wrestling players as it involves huge prize money.
The Indian male and female wrestlers namely Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt, Amit Kumar, Geeta Phogat and Babita will be seen in action. The Indian bronze medalist at London Olympics “Yogeshwar Dutt” is the highest paid player in this league as the team Haryana made the highest bid of Rs.39.70 lakh in the auction to include him in their team.
Timing/Telecast: The tournament will start from 10th December, 2015. Everyone is expecting the grand opening ceremony for this mega event as it involves lot of money. It will be concluded with the grand finale which will take place in Delhi on 27th December, 2015. The inaugural edition of Pro Wrestling League will organize 18 matches which will be divided into 15 league matches, two semi-finals and Final.
The PWL 2016 will consists of six teams of franchisees from different states. Each team will consists of total of nine players which includes five Indian and four foreign players. Each team also consists of mix of male and female players in which five players should be male and rest of four should be female players.The Pro Wrestling League will be owned by franchises from six different states. We have mentioned below the list of states and their team names who have owned the teams for PWL 2015. These are as follows:
