The university offers admission to various UG & PG programmes which include B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Ed, M.Sc, M.A, M.Com, M.Ed, M.Phil, BBA, BCA, MBA, MCA, etc. For Summer session, the admission commences in the month of July whereas for Winter Session, the admission starts from February. It is to be noted that there are only selected programmes which has been offered for admission in winter session.These programmes are offered either in semester mode or annual mode. In semester mode, one semester is of six months.

Steps to apply for admission to Uttarakhand Open University: The learners can apply for admission to its various programmes in Open Distance Learning mode by visiting the university official website at https://online.uou.ac.in/. It is advised to all the learners who want to take admission to the university that they must download and read the instructions before fill up UOU online admission form.We have mentioned below the steps which the learners should follow to apply for admission. These are as follows:
- Please the Uttarakhand Open University admission portal at https://online.uou.ac.in.
- Then click on the link “Click Here to Proceed”
- Download the instructions to fill up admission form and read it carefully.
- Click on the Check box to accept the declaration form after reading it.
- Select your Session, Regional Centre and Programme and click on Search button.
- Now choose your Study Centre by selecting the radio button.
- Proceed next and fill up the complete application form correctly. Here you need to upload your photograph and signature as well.
- Then make the payment for application fee online via Netbanking/Debit/Credit Card) or by downloading the challan and deposit the fee at bank branch.
- Next step is to take the print out of the submitted application form and submit it to the Study Centre along with Testimonials.
Enrolment: After getting enrolled to the university, the learner will be provided with the unique enrolment number and identity card. The university issued the enrolment no. only once and it will be mentioned in the marksheet, certificate and degree of the learner.
